[Case Study of Post-Process Automation Solution] High-Precision Insertion Work

By automating, we can quantify the know-how of skilled workers! Here are examples that have helped with technology transfer.

We would like to introduce a case where a high-precision insertion process was achieved through an automation solution for post-processing. The customer's concerns included issues such as "the aging of skilled workers, which is essential for maintaining quality" and "a heavy reliance on the skills of experienced workers, making it difficult to pass on technology." After implementation, we received feedback such as "we were able to automate the techniques that relied on skilled workers, maintaining high insertion quality" and "by automating, we were able to quantify the know-how of skilled workers, aiding in the transfer of technology." [Challenges] ■ The aging of skilled workers, which is essential for maintaining quality, is progressing. ■ There is a heavy reliance on the skills of skilled workers, making technology transfer difficult. ■ Due to significant variability in parts, automating the insertion process is challenging. ■ Many parts require manual labor due to small gaps between components, leading to the abandonment of automation. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Automation for extracting contents from a box.

I responded to a request to automatically extract the contents of a box.

There was a consultation about whether it is possible to automatically extract the contents of a box. There were challenges such as how to separate the contents from the box and whether the contents would be damaged during the separation process. We started by cutting the edges of the box corners. There were issues with the precision of the cutting position and the cutting method, so we began to verify each aspect and refined the process to suit automation. Recently, we have also received projects outside the automotive parts field, and we are continuously challenging ourselves with new things using the technology we have accumulated. Please feel free to contact us.

Case study of automated component insertion process: Improving production efficiency and shortening delivery times with high-precision insertion processes.

Presenting a collection of case studies! Automating the parts insertion process to improve production efficiency and shorten delivery times.

We would like to introduce a case study of automation in the insertion process by JUKI Corporation. In the component insertion process, advanced technology and experience are required, making skilled workers play a crucial role. However, with the aging of skilled workers, maintaining technical expertise on-site has become one of the challenges. In response to this challenge, we introduced the "JM100." By combining the skills developed by skilled workers with automation, we established a highly precise insertion process. [Case Overview] ■ Background: A process where high-precision mounting is difficult ■ Solution: Automation of technology that relied on skilled workers ■ Effect: Improved production efficiency and reduced lead times *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Case of Automation in Parts Insertion Process: Reduction of Defect Rate and Improvement of Quality through Variation Improvement

Presenting a collection of case studies! Examples where productivity dramatically improved and production costs decreased.

We would like to introduce a case study of automation in the insertion process by JUKI Corporation. In the component insertion process, there was variability between processes, and it relied on the skills of experienced workers. This led to variations in quality depending on the skill level and physical condition of the workers, resulting in a decline in quality. Therefore, we considered automation with the JM100 and the introduction of the JaNets system. By reducing variability, the defect rate decreased, high-quality production was achieved, and productivity dramatically improved due to stable production speeds, which also reduced production costs. [Case Overview] ■ Background: Variability due to worker skills, task difficulty, physical condition, and experience was an issue. ■ Solution: Automation and system implementation. ■ Effect: High-quality production and increased efficiency. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

I created a case study on the introduction of automation using robots.

I created a manga about examples of automation using robots.

Even when we talk about "automation," it inevitably becomes an abstract expression. We used robots for the automation of dedicated processes, and to clearly convey examples of not just transporting robots but also performing tasks, we created a manga. This is a case of automating the process of peeling film with robots. For more details, please download the catalog.

Automation examples: multiple processes such as leak testing, visual inspection, and packaging.

Not just one process, but by automating various processes, we can achieve even greater effects.

Originally, it was a consultation for the automation of visual inspection, but it has been consolidated into multiple processes. For the products on the pallets flowing from the conveyor: - Removal of caps attached to the products - Return of pallets - Transportation - Leak testing - Sorting of leak test results (OK/NG) - Handling - Visual inspection (top, bottom, and outer surfaces) (multiple area cameras + line cameras) - Sorting of visual inspection results (OK/NG) - Oil application - Packing into designated shipping pallets All of the above processes have been automated. We have pursued high-speed inspection processes and stabilized inspections (especially leak tests). Since the processes span multiple areas, we cannot list them all, but we completed the project through multiple meetings and confirmations. With various achievements in inspection equipment and based on our experience in complex automation, we aim for various approaches. Please feel free to consult or inquire.
